Crusader Runners Turn in Personal Bests at Peoria

This past Saturday, three Crusader harriers traveled to Detweiller Park in Peoria to race in the biggest meet of the regular season.

The varsity race featured 70 teams (22 ranked) and 545 competitors.  For the third time this year, all three runners turned in outstanding performances, each running a personal best.  James Durkin led the trio with a 29th place finish in 15:11.  Pat Maguire finished 57th in 15:25.  With these times, both runners have earned a spot on Br. Rice’s all-time leaderboard.  Anthony Maciag continued his breakout season dropping his PR another 18 seconds to take 109th in 15:49.

The Crusaders will have a bye week before returning to competition on Saturday, September 29, at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational.
