A Chicago-area youth and high school superstar, a rising standout in the junior leagues, a critical member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic Team, 16 memorable seasons in the National Hockey League, a Stanley Cup champion, NHL head coach, broadcaster, son, brother, husband, father…one of the game’s biggest ambassadors…and, come next week on Monday, October 15 in Dallas, Texas, Comcast SportsNet Chicago’s Blackhawks game analyst/”NHL on NBC” lead analyst Eddie Olczyk will be the recipient of yet another highlight reel moment in his brilliant hockey career as he joins the ranks among the sport’s biggest American contributors with his official induction into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to have been involved as much as I have…in so many different ways…representing our game and our country over the many years I’ve done this,” said Olczyk. “From growing up as an American player to playing on nine different U.S. teams and also coaching in ’06 in the Under-18 tournament in the Czech Republic, just being recognized, let alone being inducted, means so much to me and my entire family.”
