Student: Conner Stack

Grade: 9

Freshman, Conner Stack, a graduate of Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School, chose Brother Rice because he wanted to be a part of a brotherhood. “I knew that I would be very successful here. Also, I know that everyone surrounding me would help me reach my goals and put me in a position to succeed in life. Overall, I made the right decision to attend Brother Rice”. Conner’s favorite subject is Math and hopes it will help him be a successful Engineer or Businessman one day. He keeps a busy schedule by playing on the school’s Football, Baseball and Basketball teams.

Conner was chosen as Crusader of the Month because of his dedication to his education and always doing his best to participate in class.

Student: Mac Murzyn

Grade: 10

Mac Murzyn is a sophomore at Brother Rice. He attended St. Cajetan School, where he began to become interested with what Brother Rice had to offer. “My favorite class is Web Design with Mr. Parker because I get to sit with my friends and I enjoy making websites on things I love.” He participates in the Football, Baseball and Wrestling teams while also a member of the National Honors Society. He would like to be an investment banker one day, but until then he enjoys batting practice with his dad, following the New York Yankees and boating on Lake Michigan. 

Three words that describe you: “Resilient, selfless, defender of the Faith.”

Mac was chosen as Crusader of the Month because of the interest he has taken in his Web Design class and going above and beyond of what’s asked of him.

Student: Charles Regan

Grade: 11

Charles Regan is a junior at Brother Rice High School. He currently plays Water Polo and participates in the Creative Writing and Politics Clubs. When he was a student at St. Linus school, he shadowed at Brother Rice and was very impressed with what it had to offer. His older brothers attended Brother Rice and Charles wanted to be a part of that legacy. His favorite class is US History but he aspires to be a Mechanical Engineer. Until then, he is working hard at his favorite pizza place, Russo’s Pizza and is an active member of Boy Scouts. 

Three words to describe yourself: “Funny, nice, hardworking.”

Charles was chosen as Crusader of the Month because of the extracurricular work he has done at his alma mater, St. Linus.

Student: Connor Melean

Grade: 12

As a senior, Connor Melean holds a very busy schedule at Brother Rice. He plays on the Cross Country and Track & Field teams, takes part in the Spanish Club, Politics Club, Scholastic Bowl, Edmund Rice camp, and the National Honors Society. His favorite class is Aerospace Engineering because he enjoys physics, astronomy and flight. In his free time, Connor loves being outdoors, reading, playing with his dog and hanging out with his friends. He went to Queen of Martyrs for grammar school and wants to be a police officer. He chose to attend Brother Rice because of the camaraderie, brotherhood and academics.
