The regular season comes to an end for the Brother Rice Scholastic Bowl team. After a great season, the team is getting ready for regionals on Mar. 4.

Scholastic Bowl had 14 wins and four losses this season, taking third place in the South Metropolitan Scholastic Bowl league. The Crusaders are currently tied for third with Marist and Providence and are in a good spot to make a run to the state playoffs.

Coach Mrs. Pansino said, “Point differentials were used to break the tie, and we ended in third place, which will help us in regionals.”

In the most recent meet, the Crusaders lost all three matches but are focusing on their upcoming regional match.

Senior Alexander Lamantia said, “Our last tournament loss was because we only had four players.”

Fenwick will be the team to beat this year, going undefeated on the season. When the Crusaders are at full strength, they are going to be a tough team to beat.

Senior James Mangan has been a huge part of the team’s success and will look to lead the team through the upcoming Regional meet.

The team believes they have what it takes to advance to the sectional meet and eventually the State Finals, however only time will tell.
