Br. Rice Alum Michael Massey Picked By Royals In MLB Draft

The Brother Rice alum was selected in the 4th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft.

CHICAGO – Michael Massey, who played high school baseball at Brother Rice and collegiately at the University of Illinois, has been selected to play professionally. The Kansas City Royals picked up the second baseman in the 4th round (109th overall pick) of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft.

Massey – whose hometown is listed as Palos Hills – is the highest drafted infielder in University of Illinois baseball history, according to the school’s sports information department.
