The track & field team competed in the Thornton Invite on Thursday, February 14. The varsity team placed 2nd (116-110), while the frosh/soph team also placed 2nd (102-101). For the third straight meet, Dan Spellman was the varsity 1600m champion. His time of 4:39, currently ranks him #18 in the state. Frosh/soph event champions include Dwayne Moorehead in the 60m, Dan Zapata in the high hurdles, Mikey Corcoran in the 600, and Matt Quattrocchi in the 1600. Second place varsity finishes were Justin Palmer in the high hurdles, Chase Hall in the 300, Ronan Dolan in the triple jump and the 4×400 team of Corcoran, Harrison Morg, Spellman and Jimmy Maguire. Second place finished at the frosh/soph level were Kyle Clayton in both the 60 and 300, Adrian Campos in the triple jump, Louie Conn in the shot put, and Kevin Lynch in the 800. The team’s next meet will be Sunday, February 24, at Lewis University.
