The young men who make up this group come from different backgrounds and neighborhoods; yet what bonds them is a desire to live out Jesus’ teachings by helping others. They are united by […]

Brother Rice Welcomes New Band Director, Mr. Rich Alifantis

While the Crusader Crazies get the bulk of the press as the most spirited “12th man” at Brother Rice High School sporting events, there’s no denying that it is the “sis-boom-bah” of the Brother Rice/Mother McAuley Marching band that really gets the hearts of the maroon and orange fanbase pumping.  With the departure of former band director Mr. Zach Zielinski at the end of the school year last spring, the search began for a replacement who would lead with the same energy and spirit of band directors gone-by.

Robotics at the MATE ROV World Championships

2023-06-29T09:12:01-05:00

The team had an amazing 2nd pool run. Alex Novak piloted the ROV beautifully, Mic Arundel was an unflappable leader and captain Peter Connolly devised a device between our first and second attempt that allowed us to complete 3 new tasks that we had never before attempted, without testing or practice!

On their 2nd attempt the boys bested their first attempt total by 54 points! This was also 40 points better than the total that won the Midwest regional championship with!

During the final collaborative challenge Brother Rice’s robot was so capable that a higher ranked team […]

With over 750 wins in its 31-year history, the Brother Rice High School volleyball program has experienced its share of success, bolstered by scores of area players who would go on to play at the collegiate-level and, equally important, by the consistency of its coaching staff: Head coach Dan Dwyer, who stepped down after Brother Rice’s memorable state playoff run this past spring, has served as either a head coach or an assistant for the Crusaders since the program’s inception over three decades ago. His replacement […]
