Paul Ickes and Ray Crowley induction into the Chicago Catholic League Hall of Fame


Huge Congratulations to our very own Paul Ickes and Ray Crowley on their induction into the Chicago Catholic League Hall of Fame. This is an incredible accomplishment and so very well deserved. They will be inducted on April 25th at the Chicago Catholic League Banquet. 

For those of you who would like to show your support and celebrate these two men, the banquet will be held April 25 at the Crystal Sky Banquet Hall, 7941 W. 47th Street, McCook, IL, (one mile west of Harlem Ave.). Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner and induction ceremony to follow at 7p.m.

Track & Field – Spartan Classic Results


On Friday night, the Track & Field team took part in the Spartan Classic at Oak Lawn.  The Crusaders finished 5th out of nine schools.  Event champions were the 4×800 relay team of Mikey Corcoran, Dan Spellman, Eddie Burke and Tommy Gleeson and the 4×400 team of Nehemiah Ray, Gleeson, Corcoran and Harrison Morg.  Second place efforts came from Justin Palmer in the 300 hurdles, Spellman in the 1600 and the Frosh/Soph 4×400 team of Adrian Campos, Sean Maloney, Joe Hladik, and Dan Zapata.  Special shout out to senior Matt Reidy for a great race in the 3200!  Tomorrow the team […]

The Beverly Review: Payton lifts Br. Rice past Ignatius


When Jack Payton got off to a relatively slow start at the plate, Br. Rice Coach Sean McBride wasn’t worried.

He knew Payton would come around, and the junior didn’t take long to do it.

With the Crusaders hosting St. Ignatius on April 1, Payton went 2 for 3 and knocked in 3 runs as Br. Rice beat the Wolfpack 5-3 in a Chicago Catholic League crossover.

BAPA: A Life-Changing Gift


A picture is worth 1,000 words. That may sound cliché, but for Srey Noun, a 17-year-old Cambodian girl born without hands or feet, the smile captured on camera when she was presented with custom made prosthetic hands revealed a life-changing moment.  The hands, created using a 3D printer by Brother Rice High School engineering student Liam Coughlin, were delivered to Srey by Beverly/Morgan Park resident Paul Duggan at the end of March.

March Crusaders of the Month


Congratulations to our Crusaders of the Month for March 2019!

Brother Rice honors one student from each class as Crusader of the Month. To be considered for Crusader of the Month, students must be nominated by a teacher, coach or administrator. In order to qualify, students must show leadership, be in good standing and be involved in activities within Brother Rice High School.

Our Crusaders for the Month of March are Zach Welsch ’19, Bill O’Connell ’20, Seamus Quinn ’21 and Andrew Ivy ’22.
