When you think of sports at Brother Rice, what comes to your mind first?

Be honest – it wasn’t golf.

Although golf isn’t the marquee sport at Brother Rice, the team continues to make a name for themselves throughout the years. Just this past season, the team traveled to Olympia Fields, La Grange Country Club, Oak Park Country Club, and many more. Many players have been playing outstanding golf and are being recognized for their accomplishments.

Last week, as Chicago lay dormant under a few feet of February snow, new Brother Rice High School head coach Tim Vaughan met with students on two separate afternoons to introduce himself and discuss local Evans Scholarship opportunities through the Ridge CC Caddie Program.

The Standard: Quinn Clifford’s Road to State

After finishing 28th in the state championship his junior year, senior Quinn Clifford is out for revenge this season. 

Clifford is the star player on Brother Rice’s golf team, and has been a varsity player since the end of freshman year. Clifford is the most highly regarded player in the program, and his coaches and friends have high expectations for him.

John Stillman records lowest score at IHSA Regional

“On Tuesday, John Stillman became the second golfer in Brother Rice history to record the lowest score at an IHSA regional. Stillman’s 77 at Glenwoodie Golf Club led the Crusaders to a second place finish, followed by Mike Furlong, Sean Hogan, Jack Donovan, Ben Zarlengo, and Jake Koos — all of whom recorded top 12 finishes.

On Monday, the Crusaders will compete in the IHSA’s Lemont Sectional at Broken Arrow Golf Club in Lockport. Best of luck to the Crusaders!”
