Track & Field – Thornton Results

On Saturday the Track & Field team traveled to Thornton. The Crusaders took 7th out of 10 teams.  David Wolf was the lone event champion capturing the pole vault title with a new personal best!  Other strong performances were turned in by John McGlynn in the shot put, Dan Spellman in the 800m run, and the 4×100 team of Chase Hall, Ronan Dolan, Anthony Matejko, and Ty McCoy.  Today the frosh/soph team will compete in the Catholic League Championship at Marmion Academy. Evergreen Park FS Invite

Last Thursday, the frosh/soph track team competed at Evergreen Park. The Crusaders finished second as a team.  Event champions were Eddie Burke in both the 3200 and 1600 and Nehemiah Ray in the 200.  Second place performances came from Julius Lujano in the shot put & Louie Conn in the discus.

Track & Field – Spartan Classic Results

On Friday night, the Track & Field team took part in the Spartan Classic at Oak Lawn.  The Crusaders finished 5th out of nine schools.  Event champions were the 4×800 relay team of Mikey Corcoran, Dan Spellman, Eddie Burke and Tommy Gleeson and the 4×400 team of Nehemiah Ray, Gleeson, Corcoran and Harrison Morg.  Second place efforts came from Justin Palmer in the 300 hurdles, Spellman in the 1600 and the Frosh/Soph 4×400 team of Adrian Campos, Sean Maloney, Joe Hladik, and Dan Zapata.  Special shout out to senior Matt Reidy for a great race in the 3200!  Tomorrow the team […]

On Saturday, the track & field team competed in the Charger Classic at Stagg.  The Crusaders placed 3rd out of fifteen schools.  Event champions included the frosh/soph DMR of Eddie Burke, Nehemiah Ray, Mikey Corcoran, and Matt Quattrocchi, Justin Palmer in the 300 hurdles, the frosh/soph 4×4 team of Adrian Campos, Burke, Corcoran, and Pat Carney, and the varsity 4×4 team of Palmer, Tommy Gleeson, Giacomo Iraci, and Ronan Dolan.  Second place efforts came from Dan Spellman in the 3200 and Chase Hall in the 200.  Currently, the Crusaders have 6 events ranked in the top 25 in the state.  Tomorrow […]

Crusader Duel Results – Track & Field

On Saturday, the track & field team held the 4th Annual “Crusader Duel.”  The championship came down to the final event.  The white team led by captains Ty McCoy, Erik Estrada, and David Wolf pulled out the victory over the black team by a score of 226-220.  The team will open up the outdoor season this Thursday at Hillcrest and Saturday at Stagg. The track & field team competed in the Thornton Invite on Thursday, February 14.  The varsity team placed 2nd (116-110), while the frosh/soph team also placed 2nd (102-101). For the third straight meet, Dan Spellman was the varsity 1600m champion. His time of 4:39, currently ranks him #18 in the state. On Saturday, March 16, the Track & Field team competed in the Catholic League Indoor Championship at the University of Chicago.  The varsity team tied for 4th place while the freshman/sophomore team took 10th.  The top finish of the day came from the 4×200 winning team of Chase Hall, Dwayne Moorehead, Giacomo Iraci and Ty McCoy.  Second place finishes came from Justin Palmer in the high hurdles, and the 4×400 team of Tommy Gleeson, Mikey Corcoran, McCoy and Palmer.  Third place efforts came from Dan Spellman in the 3200 and Chase Hall in the 200.  Tomorrow the team will travel to Thornton […]

The Varsity team competed at the Argo Invitational on Saturday, March 9. The team placed 9th out of 14 schools.  The top performer on the day was Chase Hall, who placed second in both the 55m dash and the 200.  Ronan Dolan finished third in the 200 and sixth in the triple jump.  At Evanston, the sophomore team placed fifth.  Event champions were Mikey Corcoran in the 800m and the 4×200 relay team of Brandon Bryant, Dwayne Moorehead, Kelton Stokes, and Adrian Campos.  Moorehead added two more runner-up finishes in the 55m dash and as part of the 4×400 relay with Bryant, […]

Track & Field ‘King of the Ring’ Results

On Saturday, March 2, the weight men of the Field and Track team competed in the ‘King of the Ring’ tournament at Eisenhower.  The top performer on the day was Louie Conn, who won the sophomore competition throwing a personal best by one and a half feet!  Mike Davis, Joe Spaitis, Frank Herman, Collin Rice, & George Navarro also threw lifetime bests.  This Saturday the frosh/soph team will travel to Evanston, while the varsity will compete at Argo.
