Director of Marketing

Primary Description:

Brother Rice High School is currently seeking a Director of Marketing to work with members of the administrative team to lead, plan, direct and implement overall strategies and tactics for all marketing and communications in order to raise Brother Rice’s visibility, advance its brand, and articulate clear messaging to internal and external constituencies. 


  • Lead school marketing and public relations initiatives inclusive of all channels including website, social media, press releases, print marketing, email communication, photography, videography and advertising publications
  • Integrate with various stakeholders across administration, faculty, admissions, institutional advancement and alumni offices to collaboratively activate programming
  • Act as liaison to families, alumni and community constituents via targeted digital newsletters and distributing press releases
  • Daily maintenance and management of the school’s website content
  • Manage marketing campaigns to reinforce the school mission
  • Create strategies and unique content for social media outlets (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) that stimulate follower interaction and sharing
  • Utilize graphic design skills to create materials, ad books, graphics and flyers for web, print and social media purposes
  • Ensure brand and messaging consistency across all departments, events and activities at the school
  • Provide support around creative direction and content development for fundraising efforts
  • Event planning, promotion and execution
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with third-party vendors and press contacts


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in public relations, marketing and communications
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to develop, articulate and execute long and short-term goals for the organization
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, able to inspire and motivate staff, colleagues and stakeholders
  • Superior skills in writing, organization and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience writing correspondence and content for both internal and external audiences
  • Able to work in a collaborative setting
  • Good decision-making skills, tactful, good listener, willingness to search out answers, ability to recognize when others need to be involved in activities or decisions
  • Creativity and an enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals
  • Knowledge and proficiency with:
    • Website management and development, preferably WordPress
    • Social media platform management including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter
    • Standard graphic design tools
    • Email marketing tools, including Robly
    • Google Analytics to monitor and report on content performance
    • Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, or other database management
    • Basic experience with photography, video production, and editing is a plus
