The Circle of Champions, the Brother Rice Athletic Hall of Fame, is excited to welcome its thirteenth class of dedicated coaches and athletes to this prestigious fraternity. The Class of 2023 will be introduced at halftime of the Friday, October 13, Homecoming game against Montini Catholic. The varsity game kicks off at 7:00 p.m. with the introductions of the inductees during halftime festivities. Please join us in “welcoming home” our new class of inductees on this special Homecoming night.
The Class of 2023 includes: Tim Murphy ’67 (Track and Field), Steven Maxwell ’75 (Football), Rob Adams ’81 (Hockey), Mike Slattery ’81 (Baseball), Greg Hennessy ’82 (Track and Field), Edward Bryan ’86 (Football), Dan Dwyer ’88 (Volleyball), Tom Schmitz ’89 (Water Polo), Terrence Sheehan ’92 (Cross Country), Matt Kelly ‘96 (Football), Pat Fahey ‘97 (Baseball), Luke Nelson ’10 (Wrestling), the 1980 State Championship Water Polo Team, the 1982 4×400 record setting Relay Team, and the 2001 Kennedy Cup Championship Hockey Team.
The list of accolades earned by this incredibly talented group of Crusaders is awe-inspiring. The Circle of Champions provides an opportunity to celebrate these individuals who excelled on the courts, fields, mat, track, and in the pool at Brother Rice. Not only did they excel as student-athletes, but they went on to build successful careers in various walks of life.
The men who will be inducted have paved the way for our current and future student-athletes. The great tradition of Brother Rice Athletics continues to thrive due to the hard work and dedication of the ones that came before. Their achievements serve to inspire all members of the current Brother Rice community. Through The Circle of Champions, we can remember and share their excellence.
