A Message from Mr. Robert Alberts

Welcome!

I am excited and honored to serve as Principal of Brother Rice High School, continuing a tradition of academic excellence established by retired Principal Jim Antos and his predecessors. Thanks to their leadership, Brother Rice has prospered as a diverse, Catholic Christian community, committed to preparing young men for college and the process of life-long learning.

Experiencing Brother Rice as both a student and a long-time member of the faculty has helped me appreciate how very special our community really is. It is a community of faith, giving young men a distinct advantage – socially, spiritually and especially academically.

We achieve this by offering three challenging levels of academic curriculum – APEX/Honors, PREP and FOCUS, with academic placement based on a combination of entrance exam score, academic history and teacher/parent recommendations. To prepare all students for postsecondary education, each curriculum requires 4 years of math, science, English and theology.

Since many Brother Rice students want to earn college credit in advance, we offer 15 Advanced Placement (AP) courses and 11 Dual Credit courses in conjunction with St. Xavier University, St. Mary’s University, Loyola University and Moraine Valley Community College. Add the opportunity to customize your schedule with classes in social studies, Foreign Language, Arts, Technology, Business and Engineering and it is easy to see why Crusaders excel in college and beyond.

I encourage you to not only review our website but to visit our campus in person. I am confident that when you do, you will find that a Brother Rice education is an investment that will pay dividends to you and your family for a lifetime.

Sincerely,
Robert Alberts ’85
