I have been a part of the Brother Rice baseball program throughout the entirety of my career at Brother Rice High School. Being a part of that program has taught me the most valuable things that I have learned in the short 18 years that I have been alive. I have also created some great memories along the way.

Nothing out of the previous three years has come close to how much I am enjoying my fourth and final year of baseball. The 2022 Brother Rice varsity baseball team is the best group that I have ever been a […]

The Brother Rice baseball team is rolling. The squad has not lost a game yet, going 13-0 in its first 13 games of the season. The team started Catholic League play this past week against St. Ignatius, Montini, and Marmion.

The Crusaders headed to St. Ignatius on Tuesday to face the wolfpack. The bats did not work as usual for the Crusaders, but stellar pitching from Junior Cole Van Assen kept St. Ignatius in check. Brother Rice kept on swinging and eventually put up five runs to beat St. Ignatius 5-1. Van Assen pitched a complete game, allowing only […]

The Batman is easily the best movie that has come  into theaters so far in 2022. It has generated over $463 million so far. Some people may even argue that it is the best movie in the Batman franchise. However, The Dark Knight Rises is the best of the franchise, and maybe even the best movie in the entire DC universe.

The Batman is set in Gotham City, Batman’s home city. Batman feels that it is his duty to protect his city from whatever crime comes through it. Because of this, the screen is dark and gloomy while the […]

The 2022 Polar Plunge is coming up on Sunday, March 6. The Polar Plunge is a charity event that benefits the Special Olympics of Chicago and the Special Children’s Charities. Each group that participates in this event must have every member raise $200 in donations. All members that plunge receive a Polar Plunge shirt that is provided by the city of Chicago.

It is a fantastic event that benefits two great charities. However, the event was canceled last year due to Covid-19. The city of Chicago has elected to have the event returned with restrictions, and Brother Rice plans […]

With the Crusaders’ huge win over the Mount Carmel Caravan in the state quarterfinal game, Brother Rice was heading into Wheaton North territory. However, Jack Lausch was nursing a muscle contusion in his left leg all week. The Crusaders knew it was going to be a tough task with a less mobile Lausch at quarterback.

The Brother Rice offense started off the game great with the first score of the game to go up 7-0. Wheaton North responded quickly with 21 unanswered points to end the first half without allowing the Crusaders another point. The Crusaders were in a […]

At the start of this school year, Mr. Mike Glennon created a new marketing program for students at Brother Rice. He is very excited for this up and coming group.

Glennon said, “It is going to be a great year for media production at Rice with this great group of kids.”

The team consists of seniors Jacob Wizgird and Brinaro White along with sophomore Quinn Lyons, just to name a few. Mr. Glennon has shown the students how to use software like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to create videos and graphic design to post on various social media platforms.
