Entering a new environment can be scary and uncomfortable, but the Brother Rice community made that experience less stressful than usual. The lessons I have learned from the teachers, students, and staff have been wonderful.

If you were to tell me at the beginning of the year that my senior year would be better than my sophomore year, I would tell you that you’re full of it. If you were to tell me that now, I would agree with you. My senior year experience was one of a kind.

On Thursday April 3, Brother Rice held a trade fair where students could learn about different jobs and careers.

People from different trades and unions came to talk about what they do, like construction, plumbing, for working with electricity. It was a fun way for students to see what kinds of work they might want to do in the future

Imagine playing on the biggest stage, with millions watching, on your birthday, as a 22-year-old rookie.  As the game goes on, you get more comfortable. Mid-second quarter, you get a pick six that will basically change the rest of the night. Cooper DeJean got to experience this first hand Super Bowl night.

Being a Crusader is one thing, but leaving your mark on the community is another. Having your name cemented in the Hall of Fame is an inspiring achievement.

Senior Kris Love said, “Brother Rice matured me and showed me how to be a great Christian and to act manfully in Christ Jesus. It showed me how to serve others and how to be a great leader.”

Brother Rice held its annual pep rally, featuring a phenomenal performance from our Lady Crusaders, announcing our accomplishments in fall sports, and two electrifying wrestling matches.

Freshman Shane Lyons said, “The pep rally was amazing, fun to be at, and a great opportunity to show shadows why they should go to Rice.”

The Crusaders recorded a new school record with hosting over 200 shadows and giving them the Brother Rice experience.

Senior Mateo DeLuna said, “The pep rally was the best pep rally that I’ve been to in my four years at Rice.”
