Now as a graduating senior, I look back and realize that this was one of the best decisions I have ever made. At Brother Rice, I made lots of memories, learned life lessons, and met people who I will never forget.

Brother Rice allowed me […]

The Brother Rice community has been heavily impacted by the coronavirus.

since March 2020. This deadly disease has taken many things away from the seniors who have worked tirelessly to get to this point in their lives. One of the many things that the seniors will not receive this year is an ordinary graduation ceremony.

The standard graduation ceremony takes place at St. Xavier University, just a few blocks away from Brother Rice. All the teachers, students, and other staff at Brother Rice dress up in their graduation gowns and watch the students receive their diplomas. The valedictorian gives his […]

On Wednesday Feb. 10, the Brother Rice Crusaders took on the Montini Broncos for their first home game of the season. This was the Crusaders’ first home game in 351 days. Despite the odd layout of the gym and the unusual safety precautions, everyone in the Brother Rice community was excited to come out and cheer for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders started out hot and took an early 8-2 lead before Montini called a timeout. After the timeout, the Crusaders played outstanding defense and hit multiple shots on the offensive end. Garrett Greene had seven early points to lead […]

The Fighting Illini men’s basketball team are having one of their best seasons in school history. The Illini, led by Ayo Dosunmo, have defeated many powerhouse schools this season such as Duke and Minnesota.

Despite their accomplishments this season, the Illini have been struggling recently. They lost their last two games to unranked Maryland and No. 15 Ohio State. This is the first time this season the Illini have lost two games in a row.

“I was very surprised that Illinois lost to Maryland. They were much more skilled and athletic than the Terrapins. I hope they are able to […]

As of now, winter sports are allowed only twenty contact days to practice in Sept. and Oct. The athletes must wear masks and sanitize after every practice. These regulations have been tough on both the athletes and coaches.

“Yeah, wearing masks during practice is tough, but if it allows us to have a […]
