From March 21-24, the 8th grade class at St. Germaine continued the 42 year tradition of performing the passion play.

The St. Germaine Class of 2024 performed a total of four times. The first performance occurred last Thursday during the school day for all the other students to see, then once more that night.

Friday night, the performance occurred right after the weekly fish fry during Lent. The last performance occurred on Palm Sunday, right after 11:30 a.m. mass.

According to recent polls, more citizens in the battleground states trust former President Trump instead of current President Biden.

Senior Julian Gamboa said, “It is not very surprising, as the country seems as divided as ever.”

The results of the poll show Donald Trump leading the swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. However, President Biden still leads in Wisconsin by two percentage points.

For the first time in American history, one party had members agree with the opposing party to remove the Speaker of the House. Kevin McCarthy’s removal as Speaker of the House has caused yet another debate in America. Many citizens have strong opinions about why and how this happened.

Recently, Chicago has been known for its shootings, and Labor Day weekend was no different. Forty-two people were shot, seven of them losing their lives.

One teenage boy, just like a Brother Rice student, was walking down the street in Englewood around 7 p.m. when he was shot in the head. Senselessness and mental illness can truly be the only reason for a tragedy like this to happen. Imagine their families, hearing that their loved one was walking down the street harmlessly, before being shot over whatever he had in his pockets.
