The Class of 2025’s four years of hard work and commitment were celebrated at the senior dinner this past Monday, Oct. 21.
Senior Al Crema said, “It was great to have a lasting memory with the players I have been with for the past four years.”
The team enjoyed steaks and a variety of sides made by the mothers of players on the team.
Although the food was good, it left a rather bittersweet taste in the team’s mouths. This dinner served as a reminder that for many of them, their football days were coming to an end.
Senior Diego Padron said, “The senior dinner meant a lot to me. Playing football these past four years I’ve grown close to many of these guys, and the dinner made me realize how close we are to the end.”
The dinner concluded with a slide show put together by the players’ parents showing the players as babies to their present selves.
Senior Dan Terri said, “Playing Brother Rice football has been a privilege I’ve had for the past four years. The friendships I have made through football will be something I will cherish forever.”
The Crusaders, however, aren’t done yet. With a record of 6-3, the Crusaders have qualified for the IHSA 7A state playoffs.
The Crusaders will face off against the 7-2 Fenwick Friars at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at Triton College.
