On Friday, Nov. 1, Brother Rice hosted a Mass for All Saints’ Day to recognize all the saints who have or are in the process of canonization. The Mass was packed full of people to be informed of the succession of all the past saints who continue to influence the world today.
As students flowed into the gym, Fr. Mark prepared to remind us of the importance of the day.
During his homily, Fr. Mark said, “Difficulties are what make saints, people who overcome and conquer, succeed.” It reminded students of the reasons for this great religion, and how the saints gave us hope.
The Mass featured all sorts of participation in prayer and hymns, creating an atmosphere of unity within the school.
Senior Quinn Lyons, a peer ministry student who read the first reading, said, “Speaking for my fellow students brings me so much joy, especially when I have the opportunity to share the word of the Lord. Speaking in front of the Crusaders makes this experience so much more enjoyable, allowing us to inspire one another in faith.”
Senior Isaiah Salinas, who looks forward to Mass each month, said, “Going to Mass is one of my favorite parts of being a Crusader. I love being in the atmosphere of God with my peers.”
As students went on with their day the constant reminder of the importance of saints and leaders was running through their minds. The All Saints’ Day Mass served not only as a time for remembrance, but as a call for the future generations.
