On Saturday, Mar. 28, Brother Rice is hosting its annual Mother and Son Mass and Dance. Students and their moms are invited to come join in on a day of fun with each other. The theme for this year’s dance is derby hats and it will include a DJ, dinner, and professional photography.
Ms. Alvarez, who organizes the event, said, “It’s a special event that creates great memories for all the mothers and sons who attend.”
Senior Darrion Phelps, who has attended in the past, said, “It was a great time and fun night that I got to celebrate with my mom.”
Senior Peter Hosty, who is planning on attending this upcoming dance, said, “I am excited to go to this event and celebrate the four years I have spent at Rice with my mom.”
The Mass will start at 4 p.m. at St. Linus Church, and the dance will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Bourbon Street. Tickets are currently on sale and cost $30 per person and will be on sale until Mar. 23. Sign up quickly because tickets will sell out.
