The Brother Rice Crusaders battled in the Catholic League Conference Golf Outing this past week. Many Crusaders participated in this event including Jack Keaty and Phil Cipriani. All of the Catholic League teams were fighting for a victory in the Catholic League Championship. Brother Rice had a hard fought day coming in seventh place.
Senior Owen McShane said, “The Crusader Golf Team played very well this whole year and I am proud to be a part of the team.”
Saint Ignatius fought the battle and won. Michael O’Keefe played for Mount Carmel with a score of 69 and was the medalist. For Brother Rice, Jack Keaty received a score of 87. Phil Cipriani also played for Brother Rice and received a score of 75.
Jack Keaty played hard for the Crusaders. Keaty said, “I thought I could have played better.”
Keaty was upset about his performance but still had a great day of golf. The Crusaders played well in the Catholic League Championship despite what they may think.
Senior Phil Cipriani received all conference and the highest score for Brother Rice. He had an outstanding performance all year including the championship.
Phil said, “Overall the team played pretty average, not good and not bad.”
This shows that Brother Rice Golf is great because they placed seventh and still believe that they can play better.
