Crusader hockey is currently sitting at 11-10 in the CCHL. The leading scorers for the Crusaders are sophomore James Esposito with 19 goals and senior Jack Keaty with 14 goals.

Senior Jack Keaty said, “The team has come together this season even with many seniors leaving last year. Helping the younger players is a huge role I have on this team.”

The Crusaders only have four seniors this year, but all of them want to make a difference. The seniors on this team are Jack Keaty, Tommy Witt, Chris Surma, and Jake Surma. Witt is the only defensemen out of the four.

Senior Tommy Witt said, “Senior night means a lot to us because we have put in a lot of work these past four years. Playing for Brother Rice has been great and a lot of memories have been made.”

On Sunday, the Crusaders defeated the St. Rita Mustangs in an easy victory 3-0. This advances the Crusaders to a great playoff entrance as they play Providence Catholic this Friday.

Senior Chris Surma said, “Scoring on senior night and celebrating with my brother Jake, I couldn’t have asked for more. We got to beat St. Rita at least once more as seniors.”
