On Friday, Feb. 13, the Crusaders took on the Caravan in a CCL, (Chicago Catholic League), conference matchup. The Crusaders hoped to further their five-game winning streak to six games.
Senior forward JJ Manos said, “Coming off the loss in the summer league, we were ready to come out and get a win.” The Crusaders fell to the Caravan in a 42-41 on a buzzer-beater layup.
“We gave all that we had, played as a team, but unfortunately the game wasn’t in our favor,” said Charlie Wizgird ‘26. Junior forward Adam McBrearty had a strong performance with 11 points and six boards.
Senior forward Joe Niego also had a strong performance with 15 points and eight rebounds, and he patrolled the paint with three blocks. “I was hyped on my way to the game and once I got to the game it was more exciting jumping with my classmates,” said King Liggins ‘26.
This game marked the Crusaders’ final home game of the regular season.
