There’s a new location for the popular broadcast journalism class at Brother Rice. Mr. Vogt spent his time in room 100 in the past years, but it was time for change. He packed his bags and headed to Ms. Forbes’ old room right down the hall.

There are pros and cons to this new move. The pros definitely outweigh the cons considering the cons are little things such as seating and carpet. The old room had wheels on the chairs with carpet that made you feel like you were learning in your living room. It was a different style classroom for sure.

Although the classroom was comfortable, there was minimal space. Oftentimes students had to film assignments in the hallway rather than in the classroom.

At the beginning of the year when broadcast journalism students entered the new classroom, there were definitely differences.

The new classroom is a more traditional-styled classroom with desks and seats. There are rows of desks rather than tables, but there was something different. It’s a  very modern room in the back of class with an anchor desk, camera, and a teleprompter.

The broadcast journalism program will continue to prosper with these new upgrades and will remain as one of the strengths of the education Brother Rice has to offer.
