When times are rough, we need games to take our minds off of what’s happening outside.
Since the stay-at-home order, I’ve found myself to have a lot of extra time on my hands and what better way to spend it than with a game? Since I can’t see my friends, we usually all get on Xbox and play video games at night together.
I’ve been looking for a new game lately because all the other games are starting to get stale. When I was on the hunt for a new game, nothing much popped up that interested me. Eventually, I found myself going back to an old game, Grand Theft Auto V. Grand Theft Auto V, also known as GTA, came out in 2013 and is still one of the most popular games today.
Senior Billy O’Hara said, “GTA is a classic.”
The story mode of GTA wasn’t what brought me back, but rather the custom games. A custom game called RPGs vs Stunters is a super fun game to play with all of your friends. The game consists of the stunters who drive down a ramp in cars with the goal of running over the enemies on the other team. The people on the other team have RPGs and their goal is to dodge the oncoming cars and to also blow them up with RPGs.
Junior Connor Normoyle at Evergreen Park High School said, “I love the competition of the game, especially playing against friends.
The game is really fun, but the most fun comes from all the people you play with and all the trash-talking.
Senior Tom Boyle said, “RPGs vs Stunters is probably the best job you can play in GTA because I’m the best. I hit the most RPG snipes.”
Senior Danny Bombard said, “I have a lot of fun on the RPGs vs Stunters game mode. It’s also a great way to get real estate in another’s mind. Just don’t get breadsticks.” This quote might be confusing to most readers, but the phrases Danny used are common GTA phrases. Danny speaks about getting inside others’ words with trash-talking and putting up more than 1 kill game. If someone only gets one kill by the end of the round it’s called a “breadstick”.
I think the real reason the game is so fun is the laughs you have with the people you play with.
