Being a Crusader is one thing, but leaving your mark on the community is another. Having your name cemented in the Hall of Fame is an inspiring achievement.

Senior Kris Love said, “Brother Rice matured me and showed me how to be a great Christian and to act manfully in Christ Jesus. It showed me how to serve others and how to be a great leader.”

Kris’s speech was about his journey of making his own identity at Brother Rice. Love, first being known as “KJ’s brother” or “Coach Keith’s son” was something he wanted to change. Kris will be graduating as a member of Student Council, president of the Diversity Club, and a member of the bowling and football teams.

Mr. Steve Nye, in the Rice community for over 30 years, has impacted multiple students, friends, teammates, and players. Mr. Nye’s knowledge makes a real difference in people’s lives. Coach Nye’s grit and commitment caused students to excel in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.

Mr. Klutcharch said, “It was truly one of the best moments I’ve experienced at Brother Rice! We have been friends for so long and I know how much he loves it here. He deserves this!!!”

Mr. Wazio ’97 has been in the Brother Rice community for 32 years as a teacher and coach with undeniable confidence and belief in his students and players. If you are a player he has coached, the unselfishness and the enthusiasm he has when one of his players gets a personal record is what you want from your coach. I never had Mr. Wazio in the classroom, but I bet he is the same way when a student gets a question right.

Mr. Tom Wazio said, “It was an honor to be selected into the BR Hall of Fame. It’s incredibly humbling to be included with a group of amazing individuals who I’ve respected and admired over the years. It was gratifying because I was able to share the special day with my wife, daughters and parents who were in attendance.”

Congratulations, Mr. Nye and Mr. Wazio, for being inducted into the Hall of Fame and leaving your mark on the Brother Rice community.
