On Saturday, March 29, Brother Rice hosted its annual Mother-Son dance and mass. There was no shortage of Crusaders and their mothers at St. Linus and Bourbon Street, where the mass and dance were held.
The night started at St. Linus Church for their 4 o’clock service.
Senior Matt Phelan said, “It was a great time and nice to see how excited the moms were.”
After the mass concluded, everyone headed over to Bourbon Street, where they enjoyed dancing, food, and music.
Before the dance started, Spanish teacher Ms. Angelica Alvarez greeted everyone and kicked off the night with prayer and grace.
The dance was a hit. Everyone was dancing and having a great time with their fellow Crusaders.
Senior Dominic Leodoro said, “I had a blast, I don’t think I had a down moment the entire night.”
The dance was fun for both mothers and sons, with one mother getting on stage and doing her best karaoke song, topped off with a stage dive.
What some kids expected to be a boring night was filled with enjoyment and memories.
Senior Robby McElroy said, “I don’t always get the chance to spend a night like this with my mom, so I enjoyed it a lot, and so did my mom.”
The dance was a great way to bring moms and their kids together and reminds us that our moms will always be there for us.
