On Thursday, Oct. 30, the Mount Sion program held their first annual Halloween party after school in the library. To start off the party, everyone collected materials and old shoe boxes to decorate them in a Halloween theme.
Senior Ben Miller said, “It was a lot of fun decorating and creating a theme for the shoe box I made with my partner.” This activity was also a competition to see who could decorate their box the best.
After the competition, everyone was treated to pizza and candy to enjoy after their hard work. Junior Nick Wood said, “It was really nice to hang out and eat with everyone after working hard on our shoe box decorations.”
Once everyone was done decorating and eating, each shoe box was numbered and labeled with the names of the creators. The top three decorated shoe boxes were chosen and then put on Brother Rice’s Instagram to get a final vote for the winner. Senior Ian Sorensen said,” The competition was really fun, and I enjoyed the contest we held at the party.”
The winners for the contest were sophomores Simon Reynoso and Ryan Massaro.
