When walking into the halls of Brother Rice for some of the last times in my high school journey, I can only think about how awesome my senior year has been.

The goal this year was to enjoy every moment I had here at Brother Rice, and it is safe to say that I have exceeded this goal.

Anywhere from forming new bonds with as many of my peers as possible, to sharing laughs and strengthening the relationships between old friends, it has been a true blessing.

As I take a trip down memory lane, I will share some of my favorite memories this past year:

First, being able to be a part of the Crusader Crazies in the fall lived up to the hype. Beating teams like Mount Carmel and Notre Dame made wearing silly themes worthwhile. At least I was not alone!

Second, and a memory that will be cherished forever, is my basketball season. The memories I made during this time caused my winter to fly by. Accomplishing something no other basketball team has makes this part even more memorable. We will always be remembered for making it down state, and nobody can take that away from us. The teammates I had on this team will be some of my best friends for the rest of my life.

Last was Decision Day. Seeing each and every kid represent a different school, from hundreds to thousands of miles away to right in the state of Illinois. The records the Class of 2025 broke this year have been unbelievable. We have come such a long way to achieve these, and I am proud to be a part of this special group.

Some advice I would give to the underclassman is to enjoy every moment, no matter if it’s in school, sports, or being with those you love most. You never know when the last time you’ll see them is, and in my case, I have to say goodbye to most of my peers in a few months.

Aside from this, the Class of 2025 and my senior year will be in my heart forever. I’ll never forget the journey I took as a Crusader and will forever bleed maroon and orange.

Thank you, Brother Rice.
