The Brother Rice rugby team was supposed to play Mount Carmel on March 22, but due to the weather, the game was canceled. The team was disappointed in the cancellation of the game, however they are excited for the game to be rescheduled.

Eoin Cox said, “I was pretty bummed when I heard about the cancellation because I was excited to play, but I am still excited to play them later in the season and show them how we play.”

The players just want to play more games. They want to face new competitors and show off their skills. The rugby team is an extremely skillful team and are very talented.

Senior Tommy Hanlon, a fourth year rugby player, said, “We’ve been practicing since November, and I know we have a ton of potential. I can’t wait to show everyone what we can do in the next few weeks.”

Senior T.J. McNichols joined rugby this year, but he suffered a minor injury week one. He looked to make a return last Friday against Mount Carmel before the game was canceled.

McNichols said, “I am feeling better than ever now. I’m very excited to hit and take the field against anyone else that challenges us.”

T.J. is a great example of Brother Rice Rugby. It shows the strength and determination of all the players on the team.

The players walk onto the field and want to do their very best to show the fans who the better team is. That team will be the Crusader rugby team.

The players’ goals on the team are to do their best and try to win every game. During these games they want to be the more physical team and out work the opposing team.

The Brother Rice rugby team has their work cut out for them, but everyone knows they can get the job done.
