This year, the Class of ‘27 wanted to do something special for the first day of school. The senior class decided to have a big breakfast to celebrate the first day of school. Before school started, everyone met in the parking lot with food, bean bags, and everything needed for a fun tailgate.
Everyone brought individual items to make everything come together. People brought a lot of items like an assortment of breakfast foods, drinks, speakers, etc. Timmy Reidy brought boxes of donuts for everyone but decided to keep a few boxes for himself to eat at lunch.
Timmy said, “I think I ate two boxes of donuts that morning.” Not everyone was prepared for the first day of school, though, as James Romano wore a pair of khaki shorts that were very baggy on him. James said, ¨I didn’t have a clean pair of pants and woke up late for school.¨
Other guys like Nick Scarnavack and Adam McBrearty just came to throw the pigskin around a little bit instead of having some breakfast. Nick said, “I didn’t want to bring anything and I just came to have a good time.”
The tailgate was a great way to kick off the year and the younger classes can keep the tradition going every year.
