Over spring break, 10 of us seniors went down to Siesta Key, Florida, for a nice vacation. We went with all of our moms and had an amazing time.
First, we got there on Tuesday and we arrived at our house. The house was awesome; it had two floors, so the moms did not have to be bothered by us all week. We had two pools and two hot tubs. The house was absolutely perfect for 10 boys.
The week was packed with fun activities. On Wednesday, we all went to the beach and played so many games. Charlie Barkmeir and Colin Goggin were the champions of spike ball the whole week and pretty much dominated all the competition.
On Thursday, we rented two boats for us and the moms, and we headed out to an island and sandbar around 30 minutes away. This was the most fun day I had on the trip because of the great weather.
The boat ride was extremely fun, and we got to listen to some great music on the way. The way there was pretty chill music, which mostly consisted of Kenny Chesney, requested by Mikey Fitzgerald.
The way back from the island had more upbeat and wild music. I think our favorite song was “Brass Monkey” by the Beastie Boys.
Friday, our final full day, we went to the beach again and cherished our final day in Florida. We went to this restaurant called Daiquiri Deck and I had some of the best fish tacos I’ve ever eaten.
We finished off the trip by watching the sunset and taking pictures on the beach. We all wore white for that final sunset.
The boys made a human pyramid to finish off the trip. It made for an awesome picture.
I had so much fun spending time with my friends and my mom. I have Siesta Key to thank for all of that.
