On Thursday, Feb. 27, the class of 2027 had their retreat where they learned more about their faith and character.
While everyone else had e-learning, the sophomores were led in small groups by Brother Rice’s peer ministers. They talked about Edmund Rice, their faith, and their ¨lollipop moment.”
Senior Carter Mosel said, “It’s awesome when you see kids have that moment of realization because of something you did.”
The sophomores talked about drugs and addiction, where they were warned about the dangers of drugs.
Sophomore Mickin Shanklin said, “It was really an eye-opening experience for me, and it helped me see the true dangers of that stuff.”
However, there was more than one guest speaker; Brother Casey talked to the Class of 2027 about their faith, religion, and what it means to live manfully in Christ Jesus.
Senior Matt Phelan said, “I found myself learning more about my faith, and I was the one leading the retreat.”
The sophomore retreat was an outstanding success, whether it be from the hot dogs made by Mr. McAuliffe or the “lollipop” moments shared from the leaders. The yearly retreat continues to improve and be a success.
