The Spanish and Art Clubs have recently met to kick off the new school year and jump back into various activities and exercises. The leader of both clubs is Mrs. Carbol, and she hosts meetings every other week.
Mrs. Carbol said, “The Art Club fosters creativity and self-expression by providing students with collaborative space to explore various art forms through workshops, projects, exhibitions and field trips.” The clubs usually have combined meetings and often intertwine art projects that have something to do with Spanish.
The meetings are very time management friendly and only take 30 to 50 minutes after school. Timmy Reidy ‘27 said, “The meetings are very time flexible, and I can go right before practice.” Both clubs meet all school year starting in September and ending in May. The clubs are also great extracurriculars to add to a college resume.
The Art Club has made some awesome projects in recent years including paper mache and colorful drawings. Jacob Velarde ’27, who just became treasurer of the Art Club said, “Art club is where you can meet new friends that you won’t see throughout the day.”
The most recent project was making a skeleton head out of construction paper. Every project is either found or created by Ms. Carbol or a leader of either club. The meetings get students working on hands-on activities.
