Just like that, we were getting on the bus to go watch the boys play in the state championship. Snow was coming down as we got into the bus. We knew it was going to be a cold one, but we were still going to be loud. The bus ride was smooth, everyone was excited and we were ready to beat our rivals.

We arrived and we were the first bus to get there, so we started the student section. The front row was all slush but I decided I would stick it out and stand in it all game. The game went on, and it was a lot of fun. We cheered and chanted on a cold winter night in DeKalb and eventually we were up 16-0.

The clock was ticking down, and we were just moments away from winning our second state championship in school history.

The horn went off and we won! We were so excited that we finally won a championship. The team ran over to the student section, and we all chanted and celebrated the win. We tried getting a day off, but unfortunately the chants didn’t work. We will have one after Christmas break thankfully.

It was hard getting out of the stadium because my feet were like cement blocks. I couldn’t feel anything from my ankles and below. The whole bus ride home, I was working on warming my feet up which wouldn’t happen until after I got home. We were excited the first few minutes, then we chilled out the rest of the ride home.

It was a really fun experience, and I’m happy my brothers finally brought one home.
