The Brother Rice/Mother McAuley College Fair was a success. It attracted over 150 schools across the country and hundreds of students showed up.
The fair took place in both Brother Rice and Mother McAuley’s gym. Students from all grade levels piled in the schools to start or complete their college search.
The Director of Counseling at Brother Rice, Mr. Creed said, “Not only does the College Fair extend beyond juniors and seniors, but also beyond Brother Rice and Mother McAuley. Our College Fair is one of the biggest on the South Side, and we have students from several schools that attend.”
The College Fair is a great way to meet with a variety of colleges and get a feel of what to expect. Students can benefit greatly if they attend and ask questions about any uncertainty.
Mr. Creed said, “The College Fair gives students and their parents the opportunity to meet and network with college admissions representatives from all over the US. It’s a place students can start their college search or, in the case of our seniors, solidify where they will be applying.”
The College Fair was a very stressful experience for many people. The freshmen and sophomores were easier to pick out because they looked nervous. The event lasted around three hours and the fair just had a terrific atmosphere. This event is recommended by all faculty members and has great feedback from students, parents, and teachers.
Senior Brendan Arnold said, “I thought the fair was very helpful and gave me a better perspective of schools and what is offered.”
