This past Friday, BR Hoops took on the steaming hot, undefeated St. Rita Mustangs.
The Crusaders were left with nothing but revenge on their minds after a battle between the two ended in a 66-60 defeat in 2018.
Leading the show for BR is the towering senior center Deandre Hagan, along with senior point-guards, Conor Glennon and Colin Campbell.
After a slow start, BR seemed to turn things around in the second half as shots were finally starting to fall. Glennon started to get into the swing of things as he knocked down some quality shots to kick-start a scoring surge, taking the lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
“When someone starts hittin’ ‘em, we all start hittin’ ‘em. I’m just happy I was that someone for us today” said Conor Glennon. He has been consistent thus far in the season in getting his teammates in the winning mentality.
The stellar defensive performance from the Crusaders proved to be the true X-factor in securing a win.
The menacing Mustangs had come into Friday’s meeting with an undefeated record before taking the wrath of the maroon and orange. The Crusaders finished out with a close score of 61-58, knocking the Mustangs off the throne.
BR now stands with a confident 7-2 record as they look forward to taking on the rest of their rigorous schedule.
