The Brother Rice Open House was a success! It is one of the most significant events during the school year. Twice a year Brother Rice welcomes hundreds of grammar school students. This is our first mask-free open house for the first time in two years.
During the open house, potential students and their families can see what Brother Rice has to offer. National Honor Society members give a variety of information about clubs or sports and give tours around the school.
This year we showed our recently renovated broadcasting room, football field, and weight room. Being a National Honor Society member, my goal is to make the students feel like they belong here and they are going to be a part of the Crusader family.
Many of the clubs and sports Brother Rice provides catch the students’ attention. The wide variety of activities pleases and surprises families, and displays the atmosphere of the brotherhood. Student guides explain how Brother Rice has become a special place for many students. Some visiting families have Brother Rice alumni in the family, and they want to experience Brother Rice just as their relatives did.
Mr. Matt Prunckle, the Dean of Student Life, said, “We want prospective students and families to be able to interact with the faculty and staff. Our biggest asset is the personal relationship status we can build.”
