At the start of this school year, Mr. Mike Glennon created a new marketing program for students at Brother Rice. He is very excited for this up and coming group.

Glennon said, “It is going to be a great year for media production at Rice with this great group of kids.”

The team consists of seniors Jacob Wizgird and Brinaro White along with sophomore Quinn Lyons, just to name a few. Mr. Glennon has shown the students how to use software like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to create videos and graphic design to post on various social media platforms.

Jacob Wizgird loves his new internship and said, “It’s been really cool learning from Mr. Glennon. He has taught us so much about everything from graphic design to shooting video. It has only been a couple weeks and we already get to create content for Brother Rice’s social media pages.” The interns enjoy that they are able to contribute to their own school’s social media pages.

Students that are not in the program love it as well. Every week, Mr. Glennon and his staff will post a “Gameday” photo featuring a player who is a part of the team. This allows athletes to see themselves on their school’s social media page that they take great pride in.

Mr. Glennon is also teaching his interns how to use graphic design. This internship is a great opportunity for students to get started with marketing and media production. “The guys doing the internship would like to pursue some sort of media/marketing career and it has really helped us all get great hands-on experience,” said Jacob Wizgird.

Marketing is a major part of the business world today, and Mr. Glennon has brought that to Brother Rice in his first couple years of working there. The new internship created has allowed students to pursue their interest in media production and marketing.
