You guys ever wonder- “How does Brother Rice choose their annual St. Patrick’s Day shirts?” It’s simple.
This week, the “Dream Team”, Brother Rice’s English 4 Journalism class, did a class vote on their peers’ best design T-shirt graphic for the upcoming holiday. This year it was senior Nick Scarriot who rallied up the most votes.
Senior journalist Carter Mosel said, “Nick’s design was easily my top decision. As a graphic designer at the school, you can say it is in his blood.”
There were a variety of very impressive T-shirt designs. Some were funny, while others had a lot of Irish and Brother Rice pride.
Quinn Lyons said, “I really thought my design with Mr. Bergstedt’s head was going to be a hit. It’s a shame that I couldn’t get any votes.”
There was a bigger meaning to these shirts than to show school spirit on the Southside Irish Parade Day. The “Dream Team” is using the proceeds to purchase new technology, such as additional monitors, to help make the yearbook-creating process easier.
Junior Lucas Scarnavack said, “I love this year’s new design. I can’t wait to wear it to the parade this year! But more importantly, I am glad it is going to a good cause.”
The class has sold over 200 shirts purchased so far, enough to buy four new monitors.
Thank you everyone for your continuous support. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
