Time really does fly when you’re having fun. In the blink of an eye, I will be graduating alongside my fellow classmates. My four years at Brother Rice have been nothing short of amazing. Through all the ups and downs, I would not change one thing about these past years.
As soon as I walked through the doors on my first day of high school, I knew I had found my second home. The friendships I have created and the memories I have made will never be forgotten. As I look back, I realize how fortunate I was to attend this school.
A huge part of what made my time at Rice so special was football, especially my senior season. Whether it was 6 a.m. practice in the summer, bus rides to away games, or team parties after a big win, I just enjoyed being around all my teammates.
The thrill of finally beating Marist at their home field is a memory I will never forget. After losing three straight years, we managed to finally pull off a huge win and celebrate after. It was the most memorable season I have ever experienced with my best friends.
Watching the basketball team with all the Crusader Crazies, enjoying a nice episode of Bones in Mr. Strehlau’s class, and talking sports with Coach Q in his class are just a few of many other memories I will be leaving high school with. I learned to never take anything for granted.
Thank you, Brother Rice High School, for giving me the best lifelong friends. Thank you for allowing me to follow my dreams. Thank you for the memories that will never be forgotten. The maroon and orange will forever live in my heart.
