My senior year has been a wild ride. Coming in, I didn’t know what to expect, but I knew it was going to be a lot of work. Having to balance school work with college applications can be hard. It’s a good learning experience on how to balance your work.
It taught me to have more patience and take time with my work and not rush. I take pride in my work, and I don’t want to put stuff out that doesn’t represent me. Going into college, I want to start strong, so I really worked on my work ethic this year.
Mr. Dolan’s AP Gov and APUSH taught me to work hard but also have fun with it. He always kept his classes interesting and entertaining. His classes helped me become a better student, but also a better person.
During this year I took a lot of trips visiting colleges and finding out what I want for my college experience. These trips were a lot of fun, and I got to travel around the country to visit different colleges. I saw the campuses and felt the environment of each college. It was a hard choice, but in the end, I chose to go to the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign.
Senior year didn’t only teach me about how I should work for college, but it also taught me a lot about myself. I had many experiences, good and bad, that matured me and prepared me for my future.
Senior year has definitely been the best year of my high school career. The memories that I have made will stay with me forever, things like going down to state with my friends for football, or going on Kairos with my friends were some of my happiest moments.
The friends that I have made throughout high school are people that I believe are going to be lifelong friends. Spending my study halls with my friends or laughing during conversations during lunch are the things that I will remember and miss the most.
I will miss Brother Rice when I graduate. This place has been a second home for me these past few years,s and it will hold a special place in my heart. My advice for the underclassmen is to work hard and have fun. Work hard to get to places you want to go and achieve the things you want. Also make sure to cherish every moment and have fun. These memories will stay with you forever.
