Tuition Information
Tuition for the 2022-2023 school year is $13,600. There is an additional $200 registration fee and a $300 activity fee. For each additional sibling who attends Brother Rice High School, a $2,500 discount is awarded.
For the 2021-2022 school year, a discount for families that have students at both Brother Rice and Mother McAuley is available. Learn more details below.

Payment Information
Late Payment
A student will be subject to suspension from classes if tuition is more than 60 days past due during the school year. After that date, students may be subject to immediate suspension and semester exams will be withheld for any account considered delinquent.
Report cards will not be issued to past due accounts.
Payment Methods Accepted
An annual $300 student lab/tech fee will be included on your July 1st statement.
Brother Rice High School accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Debit cards with a Visa or Mastercard logo are also accepted. A 2% convenience fee will be charged on all credit/debit card transactions. E-checks are not subject to a convenience fee.
Affording a Brother Rice Education
Brother Rice High School partners with our alumni and benefactors, as well as foundations and scholarship grant organizations, to offer a comprehensive range of aid to help families afford the cost of tuition.
This year, Brother Rice students received nearly $1.4 million in assistance with an average award of over $2,200 per student and over 76% participation rate.
Academic Awards
All students who test at Brother Rice are eligible to be named an Edmund Rice Scholar or Waterford Scholar based on their national percentile on the HSPT.

Internal Scholarship Opportunities
Brother Rice offers over 35 scholarship opportunities to students with over $1,300,000 awarded.
All incoming students and returning students should complete the Scholarship Application. Scholarships must be applied for annually.
Applications open October 30, 2021, and are due on January 7, 2022.
Scholarship awards will be mailed by March 1, 2022.
Crusaders Care Fund

Brother Rice High School is committed to making a high-quality Catholic education affordable to students by allocating funds for need-based financial assistance. The Crusaders Care Fund will provide need-based tuition assistance to students that experience the loss of a wage earning parent while enrolled at Brother Rice. The Fund will be supported through the annual Parent Club fee and the BRew and Sip event. This annual $20 Parent Club fee supports the Crusaders Care Fund and also includes membership into the Mothers’ and Dads’ Club for the school year.

Financial aid is available at Brother Rice High School on the basis of need. Need is determined by multiple variables including the number of children/students in a family, other tuition the family is providing, and/or issues that may affect family circumstances.
External Scholarship Opportunities
Alumni Mothers’ Club Scholarship
The BRHS Alumni Mothers’ Club established the “Moms Helping Moms” Scholarship Fund to assist mothers, who are primary bread winners in their families. The partial scholarship is need-based, and awarded to students who understand the sacrifice their moms make to send them to Brother Rice.
The Brother Rice Counseling Department will provide eligible students with the “Mom’s Helping Mom’s” application and the BRHS Alumni Mother’s Club members will annually review applications and choose awardees.
Be Exceptional Award

Be a Crusader, Be Exceptional has become a daily challenge to our students. Being exceptional is about more than scoring well on an entrance exam and getting good grades. We recognize and value the contributions of time and talent that our young men demonstrate within their communities. It is within this spirit that Brother Rice High School is pleased to introduce the Be Exceptional Award.
Potential students with a proven track record of being a positive contributor in their local community are encouraged to nominate themselves for this award.
To be considered:
- You must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 (or grammar school equivalent) during your seventh-grade year. Grades must be maintained for the entire 8th grade school year.
- Be involved in extracurricular activities or community service projects
- Sign off approval on this form from the current school in regards to exemplary discipline, academic qualifications, and extra-curricular school programs. Scan and Submit to BeExceptional@brrice.org
- Email a letter of recommendation from a member of your community that recognizes your individual talent to BeExceptional@brrice.org
- Submit essay to BeExceptional@brrice.org – Describe a time in your life where you faced adversity and how you overcame it. (500 words or less) The essay must be created in a Google or Word Document and sent as an attachment.
Application packets will be reviewed by the Be Exceptional Scholarship Committee. Students that meet the criteria will be invited to participate in a personal interview.
