Brother Rice kicked off their Catholic League schedule with a bang as the Crusaders defeated St. Francis 43-0 on Senior Night. The defense, led by five-star Kameron McGee and Notre Dame commit Brayden Parks, secured a shut-out.
However, it was senior Army commit Jameson Davis and junior kicker Brody Briggs who stole the show. Davis rushed for 112 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Jameson said, “It felt good to show out for this team and family on senior night.”
Briggs was a perfect 5/5 on extra points and forced a turnover on kickoff. Brody said, “I loved being out there helping the team and making their jobs a little easier with my kicks.”
Special teams coach Rich Lane said, “Both players brought the juice combining for 14 points and a turnover in a nine-play sequence is exactly how we want to start the game vs a quality opponent.”
The Crusaders were defeated by the Loyola Ramblers on September 11 in a shootout with a final score of 24-27. They are looking to bounce back and bring the juice with multiple big conference games coming up against Mt. Carmel and Marist.
